Sally Balch Hurme ‘64

Sally Balch Hurme

Sally Hurme is a former member of the Stuart Hall Board of Governors, Foundation Board, and Alumni Council (past president).  A three-year boarder from Chanute, Kansas, Sally earned strong grades at Stuart Hall while also serving as secretary of Junior-Senior Council and Athletic Board and being heavily involved with swimming, hockey, and modern dance. After Stuart Hall, Sally received her B.A. from Newcomb College of Tulane University, and received her J.D. cum laude from the Washington College of Law, American University.  Currently a senior project manager

Dylan Kramer ’12

Dylan Kramer

A recent graduate, Dylan has already become active in the School as an alumnus.  He joined the Alumnae/i Council in 2012 during his freshman year at Christopher Newport University.  Dylan’s service to the School is no surprise given his long list of activities as a student: Senior Class President, prefect, member of the Habitat for Humanity Club, and Co-President of ELA, the honor society in service to the School’s library.


Sae A Lee ‘06

Sae A came to Stuart Hall as a 7th grader from Daegu, South Korea in the Fall of 2001. After graduating from Stuart Hall in 2006 with an impressive portfolio, she pursued an undergraduate degree in Art at the Rhode Island School of Design and graduate work at the Yale School of Art. Sae A received her Master’s in Painting/Printmaking and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.  During the 2014 Alumni Weekend, Sae A returned to Staunton with an art opening at the downtown Beverley Street Studio. Annette Smith Parker ’69

Annette Smith

Former Chair of the Board of Governors and Distinguished Alumni
Annette left her home in Selbyville, Delaware to attend Stuart Hall, graduating as her class’s Valedictorian.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College and Masters of Business Administration from Shippensburg University before returning to work at Dickinson. She retired from her position as Vice President and Treasurer of Finance and Administration in 2010.  Annette lives in Girdletree, Maryland and remains very active in the life of the School.  Her prodigious service to the School includes her leadership as Chair of the Board of Governors as well as membership on the Foundation Board.  She was the 2010 Graduation Speaker, and, for her continued devotion to Stuart Hall School, was given the Distinguished Alumna Award in 2007.


Denise Wooldridge ‘76

Denise Wooldridge

Distinguished Alumni
Denise was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Richmond, Virginia.  She entered Stuart Hall School as a sophomore and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University.  Denise is currently the Director of Quality Sustainability at Kraft Foods and lives in Evanston, IL.  Her leadership at Stuart Hall has been profound; she has served on the Foundation Board since 2003, gave the Graduation address in 2008, and received the well-deserved Distinguished Alumna Award in 2011.
