"Middle School students are constantly on the move, so I like to involve a lot of movement within my lessons. I also know that students thrive with structure and routine, which I also provide within my daily lessons as a way to help students understand what is expected of them each day. I want to make sure that a student is prepared for the week and the month ahead of them, so I spend a lot of time in my classes helping students develop organizational skills. Because education is constantly shifting, I always look to keep myself up-to-date by participating in as much professional development as I can. English class to me is not just reading and writing, but learning how to communicate effectively by participating in small group discussion, large group discussion, and consistently working on presentation skills. I hope to create a love of learning for each student in my classroom!
