Annual Fund

What Is the Stuart Hall Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund is our annual giving campaign that helps cover the essential operational costs of our School that are not covered by tuition. The Stuart Hall Annual Fund helps us pay for the faculty, programs, and facilities that enable us to provide our education to students in the Shenandoah Valley and around the world. Unlike public schools, we receive no state or federal government funding, and unlike many religiously affiliated schools, we are not supported by congregational giving.

Why should I give?

Like all non-profit, service-based organizations, our operating budget depends upon donations to make ends meet, as tuition levels cannot cover all the expenses of operating the School. In fact, tuition alone only covers about 71 percent of the cost of a Stuart Hall education. The Annual Fund helps close that gap.

Giving any amount shows that you believe in the School’s vision and want to be a part of ensuring Stuart Hall’s future. Your donation will help us become a financially stronger school, with Mastery Learning as our focus and a robust residential program, providing students with the skills they need to be successful not just as college students, but as meaningful contributors to our world. Your gift to the Annual Fund is an investment in the successful future of our students and our community.

Please give today.

givING DAY 2024

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, Stuart Hall will host a Giving Day, aimed at raising funds to support the School’s mission through gifts to the Annual Fund. The good news is that everyone can be involved in the festivities, either in contributing or sharing the message.

Stuart Hall has a Giving Day Advocate program and is looking for alumni, parents, and friends to commit to sharing about Stuart Hall on your social media channels. To be clear, a Giving Day Advocate IS NOT the same as an influencer. A Giving Day Advocate

-may have a small group of followers - even fewer than 100
-shares authentic memories, reflections, images, or content that is relevant to you and your experience at the School
-commits to posting leading up to Giving Day and on Thursday, April 25

To help provide guidance, an Advocate Toolkit is available here. To view our Giving Day 2024 website, click here.

“A gift to education is a gift to the future for all of us. I give because of the type of school Stuart Hall is NOW, providing a strong education along with a strong sense of community and compassion.”- Bonnie Fontenot Nielson ’64

Where will my money go?

Your gift to Stuart Hall’s Annual Fund ensures Stuart Hall can act flexibly and decisively to meet today’s unanticipated challenges. Every penny of the Annual Fund supports the mission and operations of our school, including:
●    Hiring qualified and dedicated faculty and providing them with professional development opportunities.
●    Providing state-of-the-art technology that currently allows us to serve our students, whether remote or in-person, and that will give our students world-class opportunities to explore audio-visual arts and careers going forward.
●    Providing the educational strategies and materials to our teachers that help them guide our students to success.
