Chris Aycock, Director of Development

Chris Aycock

As Director of Development, Chris oversees all functions of fundraising, alumni relations, and development communications for the School. A product of independent, Episcopal school education, Chris received his Bachelor’s in Communication and Master’s in School Administration from East Carolina University. In his career, he has worked as a Capital Campaign Director for James D. Klote and Associates in Falls Church, Assistant Development Director for Alumni and Donor Relations at Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, Director of Development at Ware Academy in Gloucester, and Head of School at Ridgecroft School in Ahoskie, NC. He recently decided that he would like to return to development work, which he considers to be his real strength and passion. Chris is married with one son and another on the way. His oldest son Tom will join the Lower School PreK program in the fall. 

Elissa McDonald, Associate Director for Annual Giving and Database Management

Elissa McConald

Elissa recently returned to the Staunton area from Indiana where she served as Executive Director of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra for six years and then as Adult Programming Coordinator for the New Castle Henry County Public Library. From 1997-2004 she was Executive Director of the United Way, first for Staunton and West Augusta County, followed by Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. As Associate Director for Annual Giving and Database Management, Elissa is responsible for building a broader donor base for the Annual Fund by inviting new alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and other friends to participate.

Jenna Smith, Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Major Gifts

Jenna Smith

Jenna Smith serves as Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Major Gifts. In this role she has primary responsibility for alumni relations, in addition to securing vital funds from our leading donors. Before coming to Stuart Hall in 2010, Jenna served her alma mater, Mary Baldwin College, as a Major Gifts Officer and as Class Leadership Coordinator in the Alumni and Parent Relations office. She also has experience in marketing and programming.
