"World religions are only truly understood through the eyes of a practitioner. My approach to teaching religion is to cover the basic tenets of each religion and then to examine artistic expression from within the religion itself. Through narrative, music, and visual art, one can begin to get a glimpse of how religion has formed and continues to form the worldview of billions of people. For a student of religion, this means being able to put oneself in the place of a religious believer - regardless of one's own beliefs. The ability to empathically view differing world views is a valuable skill that carries over into all aspects of life in the 21st century."
