Meet Coach Woods

Jonathan Woods will begin his second year as head coach of the Stuart Hall girls basketball team, building upon the team's growth in the 2024-25 season. With more than six years of experience coaching competitive AAU programs, he brings a strong focus on player development, teamwork, and leadership.

He is deeply inspired by a coaching philosophy that emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and hard work, a foundation laid by his own high school coach, Paul Hatcher, one of the most successful coaches in Virginia High School League (VHSL) history. Stuart Hall girls' basketball benefits from the high expectations that come with Woods’ playing experience as a former two-time varsity letterman and first team all-district player.

“I’m incredibly excited to be back at Stuart Hall and to lead the girls basketball program into the 2025–2026 season," he says. "We had a fantastic turnout this year, and I’m looking forward to working with such a talented group of student-athletes. There’s something really special building here, and I’m honored to be a part of it.

Coach Danny Williams – Assistant Coach

Coach Danny Williams began coaching in 2012 when his son started playing sports, and he’s been dedicated to developing young athletes ever since. He founded the Staunton Impact AAU organization, which he and his family have led for over 10 years. A lifelong basketball player, Danny has competed in Charlottesville’s Tonsler League for 12 years and played semi-pro with the Roanoke Rising Stars in 2018. He’s passionate about helping players reach their full potential on and off the court.
