After-School Activities for Lower School Students

After-School Childcare for PreK-5

Dragons’ Den, as it is fondly named, provides after-school childcare for STU’s PreK-5 students. This program runs from 3:10 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. each day that school is open. Children are given opportunities to eat snack, work on homework, and to enjoy free play. Families may enroll their children in a 2, 3, or 5-day contract, which automatically reserves placement for each contracted day. Alternately, coupons are available for purchase.

After School Activities

Intramural Sports

Each season, a 6-week session of a popular sport is offered. The Lower School PE instructor leads practices with the help of parent volunteers.  Through positive coaching techniques, practices emphasize acquiring developmental skills of the game, sportsmanship, and team cooperation. The sports line-up typically includes soccer, basketball, and volleyball.

Each year, parents are encouraged to share their interests, hobbies, and/or enthusiasm for a particular subject with our student body. Clubs, which are parent led and supervised, can provide students extra-curricular opportunities for friendship, collaboration, and enrichment. Chess, Lego Exploration, and Robotics have been popular clubs.
