Meet The Admission Team
Ann Snyder, Director of External Affairs
Ann Snyder is originally from Alexandria, Virginia, where she attended fellow CSDV school, St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes, from Kindergarten through grade 12. Ann has worked in student and family marketing since 2007, working first for a national non-profit supporting independent schools, and subsequently for WorldStrides, an educational travel company based in Charlottesville. Ann’s passion for education and for student recruiting and marketing led her to Stuart Hall in the spring of 2013. Ann holds a B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary.
Samantha Hughes, Director of International Engagement
Samantha is the primary contact for Middle and Upper School admission. She joined the Admission team after several years as the Associate Director of Admissions for Mary Baldwin College. Samantha brings with her a wealth of knowledge in collegiate admissions, including recruitment, new program marketing, student evaluation, student assessment, and international admissions counseling. A native of Augusta County, she holds a degree in political science from Mary Baldwin University. Samantha's oldest daughter is a student at the Middle School and her two youngest daughters are students at the Lower School.
Tanya Farrell, Director of Parent Engagement
Tanya Farrell is the primary contact for Lower School admission. She two decades of experience in communications, with expertise in media and community relations, publication development, financial and donor relations, and event management. Tanya joined the Admission team in 2013 but has been a member of the Stuart Hall community since 2009 when her older son, Charlie '22, entered Kindergarten at the Lower School. Her younger son, Henry '25, is also a Stuart Hall student. While her career has taken her from New York City to San Francisco, she has proudly called Staunton home for the past 12 years. Tanya holds a B.A. in Communications from Xavier University.
Alisa Loughlin, Associate Director of Advancement Operations
Alisa Loughlin moved to the Shenandoah Valley from her native Rhode Island. Her most recent position was Conference Operations Associate for Gordon Research Conferences, a non-profit that organizes more than 300 scientific research conferences each year. During college she held internships in various fields working with event planning, public relations, and media relations. Alisa holds a B.A. in Communication and Spanish from La Salle University.
