Lower School - Welcome Letter

I am delighted that you are considering the Hunter McGuire Lower School of Stuart Hall for your child’s early educational journey. Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. No one school is the right choice for every child; each is unique in its programs, environment, and character. It is thus vital to your child’s well being that you make an informed decision. Your child is your greatest
treasure and you want his or her experience in the academic world to be positive - one that values responsibility and respect, instills a love of learning, nurtures independent growth, individualizes instruction, and brings enthusiasm and joy. Stuart Hall does all of these things and much, much more.

We invite you to visit and discover for yourself the depth of the Stuart Hall experience. I think you will be impressed with our faculty and facilities, our program and atmosphere, and our students and parents. Within a nurturing, supportive environment and through a rigorous, discovery-oriented curriculum, our students develop the personal and academic skills necessary for a strong foundation and successful transition to the next step in their educational journey. Our students are our greatest measure of accountability, and we are proud to boast of their many accomplishments as they further their education. Honor roll students, leadership officers, artists, musicians, athletes - Stuart Hall graduates excel! They excel not only as students but also as responsible citizens who understand the values of integrity, compassion, and service. It is in these early years of development that the foundation is laid for future growth, preparing each child - mind, body, heart, and spirit - for a healthy life of intellectual curiosity, responsible citizenship, creative expression, and ethical leadership.

You will find that we are a happy school. We understand the importance of feeling secure and loved, the importance of childhood exuberance, and the importance of each small or large challenge that is met. We also understand the magic of a creative idea and the excitement of a new concept  understood. Sharing time, center time, and playtime are essential components in the program as are extracurricular activities such as soccer, basketball, chorus, and chess club. Laughter and smiles abound!

Come spend some time with us - see our students, walk our hallways, attend an assembly, and join us for a family style lunch. Discover why Stuart Hall School may be the right choice for your child!

Sincerely yours,

Cindy Patton
